Abstract

It is more and more common for college students to use generative AI for autonomous learning in the background of the Digital Era. The impact of AI on autonomous learning has been widely considered, but the research on the impact of generative AI on college students' autonomous learning ability is still insufficient. This paper analyzes the role, positive influences, and disadvantages of generative AI used by college students in the process of autonomous learning. After analysis, it is proven that generative AI can not only improve the efficiency of self-learning of college students, but also have an impact on the advanced thinking ability of college students. Based on this, this paper suggests that college students should improve their self-discipline under the guidance of teachers, and improve the autonomous learning framework with the help of generative AI in combination with their actual situation. And finally, the ability of lifelong learning is cultivated.
