Abstract

This paper explores the relationship between spatial equity in health care and residents' characteristics, with a particular focus on income levels in Hong Kong. Using a modified Gaussian two-step floating catchment area (2SFCA) approach, this study assesses the availability and quality of health care services, evaluates the impact of spatial equity on health outcomes, and provides recommendations for policymakers to enhance equitable access to health care. The results show significant differences in health care access across household incomes, highlighting that low-income residents often face barriers to quality health care.
