Abstract

Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war, significant changes have occurred in the international system, including shifts in the geopolitical landscape and instability in the energy market. A series of trade sanctions and counter-sanctions have also taken place. This study aims to explore the causes, contents, and ultimate outcomes of the changes in the global economic and trade system since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, as well as the potential issues that may arise in the future. The emergence of the Russia-Ukraine conflict has exacerbated the security situation in Eastern Europe, disrupting the existing geopolitical balance. This unstable geopolitical environment has prompted the international community to re-examine the layout of economic and trade cooperation. At the same time, it has also triggered turmoil in the energy market, pushing Europe into an energy crisis or causing energy prices to rise.
